Acces Boutique

The Provence tradition is full of precious and wonderful fabrics such as “boutis” which are quilted fabrics or Indian-style patterns. Indeed Provence women were the very first with an access to fabrics coming from India in the port of Marseille. The Marseille dressmakers had this special talent to quilt tuft of cotton called “boutis”, famous around the world.
Two traditional costumes are shown in the museum. Michel Biehn, antique dealer and expert in ancient fabrics in L’Isle sur la Sorgue found them.
